About The La Quinta Resort And Club Neighborhood

La Quinta is the ONLY incorporated City to take it’s name from a Hotel..and with good reason!  The La Quinta Hotel opened during the Christmas season of 1926.

San Francisco businessman, Walter H. Morgan commissioned renowned architect, Gordon B. Kaufman to design and build the secluded hacienda-style hotel.  Morgan built a nine-hole golf course on the hotel grounds and it would be the Coachella Valley’s first golf course.  Word spread and the La Quinta Hotel became THE celebrity hot spot in the 1930’s through 1950’s.  It still is!

Now called the La Quinta Resort & Spa, the Hotel is still there with it’s sweeping, palm tree lined entry driveway,  cool, low-hanging red clay Tile roofs and thick, adobe walls, but it’s been added to over the years.

The Resort area now features several fine Dining Restaurants (Morgans’ is a favorite), shops, Golf, Tennis, Spa treatments, Work out facilities, outdoor entertainment, casual walking paths and stunning landscape.  Romantic and special, this is a fantastic place for a weekend retreat, seasonal home OR full-time residence.

La Quinta Resort and Club offers a variety of housing choices.  From Suites in the actual Hotel to Casitas located along the paths, to Condominiums or Single Family homes that are strategically placed along it’s two golf courses, THE DUNES or THE MOUNTAIN courses.
