About Indian Wells Country Club Neighborhood
Indian Wells Country Club is known as one of the more historic golf clubs in the Palm Springs Valley. It was built in 1955 by Desi Arnaz and others who intended it to be a place where Hollywood’s prominent players could escape to.
Once people began to discover its stunning mountain scenery and secluded location, membership grew quickly. Since then, Indian Wells CC has continued to grow thanks to its central location in the Palm Springs Valley, its natural beauty and famous past.
For golfers, Indian Wells Country Club offers its original three 9-hole courses which were built to blend in harmoniously into the foothills of the picturesque Santa Rosa Mountains.
The courses boast mature landscaping and tight fairways, offering challenges to even the best of golfers. Frank Sinatra, Desi Arnaz and Bob Hope all once owned and golfed at this scenic course. The last nine golf holes were added in 2001, making for 36 holes of varied golf on the Cove and Classic courses which was the original home of the Bob Hope Classic for more than 40 years.
Indian Wells Country Club offers something for everyone in its elite membership. It has been called the “Fun Club of the Desert” since it began. The 70,000sf clubhouse is home to golf groups, a golf academy, four private dining areas, fitness activities and a full calendar of golfing and social events. For non-golfers, there are social and fitness memberships available. Members of this Club are chosen carefully, with new members welcomed only by invitation of a current Club Member.
Indian Wells Country Club sits conveniently between Palm Desert to the West with El Paseo, its own version of “Rodeo Drive” and La Quinta to the East with its quaint Old World version of a village called Old Town. Just twenty minutes away is Interstate 10 and the Palm Springs International Airport, making travel outside of the valley both convenient and easily accessible.
